Bohdan Pechenyak
Translator, poet
Bohdan Pechenyak grew up in Lviv, Ukraine, immigrating to the U.S. at the age of 17. His educational background is in sociology, social work, and public health. Previous translation experience includes poetry, short prose, and book-length translation.
He has also written original poetry and prose in both Ukrainian and English. His interests as a translator include the modernist Ukrainian literature of the 1920s through 1940s, as well as contemporary Ukrainian literature.
