Jack Leydiker is a B.A./M.P.P. Candidate at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs. His research focuses on Soviet national policy in Eurasia, specifically in Central Asia. His undergraduate thesis focused on the ideological and ethnographic implications of war memoirs written by Kazakh soldiers in the Red Army during World War II. He is currently researching historical connections between Kazakhstan and Ukraine, relying heavily on Taras Shevchenko’s memoirs during exile in what is now Kazakhstan.
