John Wright

Translator, Term Assistant Professor, Slavic Department at Barnard College

John Wright joined the Barnard Slavic Department in the fall of 2022. He holds a Ph.D. in Russian Literature from Columbia and is a specialist in 19th- and 20th-century poetry. His current research interests include Ukrainian poets Lina Kostenko and Volodymyr Svidzinsky.

He also teaches the senior research seminar, linguistics courses, Literature and Empire, and new courses on emigre literature and the literature of the British and Russian empires.
