Sean Patterson

Sean Patterson is a PhD candidate in the History, Classics, and Religion department at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. His dissertation research investigates the identity and ideology of the Makhnovist movement during the Ukrainian Revolution. Patterson is the author of Makhno and Memory: Anarchist and Mennonite Narratives of Ukraine’s Civil War, 1917–1921 (University of Manitoba Press, 2020). Sean works as an assistant editor and translator for the Forum for Ukrainian Studies, an online open-access research publication that enables experts, practitioners, and academics to discuss and transform international understanding of contemporary affairs in Ukraine.
