William Ronald Debnam
Translator, PhD student at Columbia University
William Ronald Debnam is a PhD student at Columbia University's Department of Slavic Languages, holding an MA in Slavic Languages from Columbia and a BA in Modern and Medieval Languages from the University of Cambridge. His current research focusses on the intersection of Ukrainian modernist literature and Soviet nationalities policy, and he recently had his first translation, an excerpt of Mykola Kulish's Myna Mazailo, published by the London Ukrainian Review. He is very much looking forward to learning from and collaborating with the experienced translators at the Translating Ukraine Summer Institute.
