Iryna Shuvalova is a poet, scholar, and translator from Kyiv, Ukraine, living between Europe and East Asia. She is the author of five award-winning books of poetry in Ukrainian. Her 2020 collection Stoneorchardwoods was named poetry book of the year in Ukraine, and her new book Endsongs (2024) has been praised as a “future classic.” She co-edited the first anthology of queer writing and co-founded the first queer poetry prize in Ukraine. Her work has been translated into 32 languages. Much of her poetry traces landscapes of longing and loss.
